As a Chinese, this is the only store I go eat in the area for Chinese food. I would not say it is 100% authentic Chinese food but the food quality and taste is best in the area. The owner couple is also very chill and nice person, treat people nice and right.

This was our first time ordering. We have lived in shorewood for over a year but lived in Joliet for 20+ years! After seeing on facebook how everyone in the area said “Asian Express is the best chienese” we had to try it! The food was absolutely delicious! When i went to go pick the food up the gentleman behind the counter was extremely friendly and explained to me how their menu works when you order specific things! Will 100% be back!

So chicken and broccoli good little salty but good I can taste toasted sesame oil. Beef and broccoli also good. The broccoli wasn't overcooked the corn was cooked just right so it's soft with a bit of crunch to it. I tried the extra large fried rice. That is enough rice to feed a family of four okay like wow that's a lot of rice. For $17.99 that's not bad it also tasted acceptable. The barbecue pork though not doing that ever again. I will return.

This was my first visit to this restaurant, and overall, it left a very positive impression. I ordered the orange chicken, crab rangoon, and shrimp fried rice, and each item had its own strengths. The standout of the meal was the orange chicken. What I appreciated most was the balance—it wasn’t drowned in sauce. Instead, the chicken was lightly coated, allowing the flavor to enhance rather than overpower the protein itself. The chicken remained crisp, with a satisfying crunch, and the sauce delivered just the right amount of sweetness and citrus. The heat level was also spot on: enough to add depth and complexity, but never overwhelming or distracting from the overall flavor. The shrimp fried rice was good though not quite as memorable. It was well-cooked and enjoyable, but it could have benefited from a bit more seasoning or a stronger flavor profile to really make it stand out. That said, it was still a good accompaniment to the meal. The crab rangoon were also enjoyable, particularly the filling, which was creamy and flavorful. I always come here for Chinese food. Simply better than I expect. Let me start by telling you about the smoothies. The one I have is watermelon. I tell you the taste is like drinking the fruit. I recommend banana, strawberry. Pineapple or the watermelon. Food looks picture perfect. Very filling. Good value for the dinner special or lunch special.
